Addendum Bornholmerfærgen

Supplementary to conditions of carriage for the Rønne-Køge, Rønne-Ystad and Rønne-Sassnitz Service

§2 Luggage (supplementary)

Luggage on the Company’s high-speed ferries: You can take one piece of hand luggage with you on board the high-speed ferries. The hand luggage must weigh max. 8 kg and must not exceed 50 x 40 x 25 cm in size. For passengers who are on foot, other luggage will be transferred on luggage vehicles which are driven onto the ferry. Upon arrival, the luggage vehicles are driven into the arrivals hall, where the traveller will be able to collect their luggage (see also §9 concerning compensation for damages to persons and luggage).

§5 Cargo (supplementary)

§ 5.1 Normal transportation of goods (supplementary)

Entry and exit to and from approach areas near ferry berths will be achieved through the Company’s gateways for check-in and possible photography.

§ 5.2 Storage of cargo (supplementary)

On weekdays, trailers may be parked in the trailer area for shipment on the next departure. It is not permitted to park trailers in the area which are not booked to be shipped on the next departure. Trailers which are parked in the trailer area which are not booked to be shipped on the next departure will be removed and transported to the parking space, Nordhavnsvej 18, 4600 Køge. The Company will issue the customer with a bill for DKK 930,- for this extra handling.

The Company’s responsibility and liability for both trailer and load ends once the trailer has been removed and parked at the parking space, Nordhavnsvej 18, 4600 Køge. It is then up to the hauler to arrange for transportation from the parking space, Nordhavnsvej 18, 4600 Køge to the Company’s trailer area when it is to be sent on.

For weekend departures, trailers may be parked in the trailer area from and including Friday.

For departures on public holidays, trailers may be parked in the trailer area from and including the last weekday before the public holiday.

Collecting trailers in Køge

Trailers arriving with the ferry from Rønne on weekdays must be collected from the trailer area before 19.30 the following day. Trailers which are not collected by this time will be removed and transported to the parking space, Nordhavnsvej 18, 4600 Køge. The Company will issue the customer with a bill for DKK 930,- for this extra handling.

§5.6 Driverless cars

On the Rønne-Køge route, the Company offers to transport cars without drivers. A reservation is always necessary for the car as there are only a limited number of places.

Wrecked cars can only be accommodated to a limited extent and only on the Ronne-Køge route. Cars that fail to comply with the statutory requirements cannot be included as driverless cars, but must instead be transported on a trailer. This means that the car must be legal to drive on public roads in terms of safety and equipment requirements. In addition, cars that are delivered to the transfer in an unhygienic condition, must be placed on a trailer. Further information can be obtained at the Cargo division.

In terms of liability, driverless cars are to be regarded as cargo.

Prices are available and tickets ordered from the Cargo division.

§6 Tickets (supplementary)

§6.1 Sale and booking of tickets (supplementary)

BornholmerFærgen offers the following ticket types:

Standard ticket:

  • The ticket is completely flexible and can be changed to a standard ticket for another sailing until departure.

Budget ticket:

  • The ticket is a return ticket which can be exchanged before departure to another departure on the same crossing, for which Discount Tickets are available. It is also possible to change to a Discount Ticket from another product type if a Discount Ticket of this type is available.
  • There may be a surcharge for transferring tickets.
  • The ticket is non-refundable and can only be booked on Færgen’s website.
  • A limited number of places are available.

Handicap ticket:

  • The ticket is completely flexible and can be changed until departure.
  • A limited number of places are available.

Pensioner ticket:

  • The ticket is completely flexible and can be changed until departure.
  •  A limited number of places are available.

Færgen Card:

  • An annual fee is charged for Færgen’s BornholmerFærgen card, which is charged for the first journey of the year, after which travel is at the discounted rates.

Færgen Bizz:

  • An annual fee is charged for Færgen’s BornholmerFærgen Bizz, is charged: standard rate for the first journey of the year, after which travel is at the discounted rates. The reduced price for the second one-way trip corresponds to standard price minus the annual fee. The agreement has a duration of 12 months from the first journey, the annual fee being charged on the first journey.

§6.2 Payment of tickets (supplementary)

All tickets with the exception of Færgen Bizz tickets are payable by Dankort or credit card at the time of booking.

Agreements relating to Færgen Kort are not credit agreements, but are agreements that the tickets are not payable until the time of check-in. Payment will be made by means of the credit card associated with the agreement.

A booking with Færgen Kort is only valid if it is possible to debit the cost of the journey from the associated credit card at the time of check-in. If payment is declined by Nets, the Customer will not be permitted to use the agreement but must purchase a ticket by other means.

A Færgen Bizz agreement does not constitute a credit agreement. Invoicing and payment when using BroBizz in connection with Færgen Bizz departures with BornholmerFærgen, annual fee and departures that were not cancelled by the cancellation deadline (No show) is via BroBizz A/S,

pursuant to the terms and conditions laid down by BroBizz A/S BornholmerFærgen receives information from BroBizz A/S about the customer, including name, address, e-mail address, registration number of the vehicle and the BroBizz-number

BornholmerFærgen exchanges updates of information with BroBizz A/S for the duration of the Færgen Bizz agreement. BornholmerFærgen transfers all necessary information about the customer to BroBizz A/S for the purpose of correct invoicing of the customer for their BornholmerFærgen journey.

If you do not have your BroBizz with you, or your agreement with BroBizz A/S agreement is inactive, you will be unable to take advantage of your Færgen Bizz Agreement when travelling.

The shipping line reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee in the event of the Customer failing to appear for the booked departure.

Similarly, the shipping line is entitled to charge a cancellation fee for the late cancellation of a reserved space or the Customer’s failure to appear as cancellation must take place no later than 1 hour before the planned departure. The shipping line is also entitled thereafter to sell the reserved space to another customer.

Travel agencies, coach customers and freight customers may request a credit agreement. Færgen can refuse to enter into a credit agreement or ask for security in the form of a bank guarantee in order to enter into the credit agreement.

Færgen does not enter into credit agreements with private individuals.

§6.3 Refunds (supplementary)

If the buyer cancels the purchase and a relevant request has been received and confirmed by ferry within 24 hours, the ticket will be refunded at no charge. This applies to all ticket types. However, a special condition for discount and bargain tickets is that they can only be cancelled on the ferry’s website within 24 hours.

Cancellation before scheduled departure:

  • Budget tickets cannot be refunded.
  • Færgen cards and Færgen Bizzes are refunded with no service charge.
  • Other tickets are refunded against a service charge of DKK 75.

Cancellation after scheduled departure:

  • Færgen cards and Færgen Bizz’es cannot be refunded.
  • Tickets will be refunded against a fee of 20% of the ticket’s list price (minimum DKK 75).

§6.4 Group travel (supplementary)

A group discount is offered if 10 or more persons are travelling together. Booking must be made in writing at the Company’s group travel department 48 hours in advance of departure.

When ordering food and drinks (hereinafter referred to as “catering”), changes to the number of passengers can be made up to 48 hours before departure. After this, the pre-ordered catering is binding.

After booking, the Company will dispatch the ticket. If you have booked catering and / or bunk ticket, a catering and / or bunk ticket will be printed out when checking in, which must be handed over to the ship’s personnel.

Bus groups can change the ticket up to 30 days before departure, after which the order is considered binding. Booking and cancellation of tickets must be in writing.

Landing Groups are liable for orders cancelled later than 7 days before departure.

For both bus and landing groups, cancellations must be in writing.

§9 Compensation for damages to persons, vehicles and luggage (supplementary)

For luggage carried on trolleys, the Company is not liable for the time before the luggage is taken on board, and after the luggage is brought ashore, except for the time the luggage is in the Company’s custody on trolleys (see also § 11 concerning. Complaints).

The Company advises that all luggage transferred to the Company’s custody is clearly marked with the name, address and telephone number of the owner.

§11 Complaints (supplementary)

For cases involving luggage that has been in the Company’s custody on luggage trolleys, you must place a complaint with Company personnel without undue delay in the terminal before departing from the terminal.
